Hello there, you gorgeous soul!

You may have noticed a change recently… I’ve rebranded to “The Sunshine Healer”!

Naturally, you might be thinking, Camryn, you already changed your name a year ago. Why are you doing this again?

Great question! Let me tell you. I was formerly The Sunshine Yogi, but I’ve realized I’m not a yogi.

As I continue my yoga education and strive to better honor yoga’s roots, I’ve come to understand that yogis are individuals who dedicate their entire lives to studying this sacred practice. They are masters of their craft.

Even though yoga heavily influences my life, I wouldn’t say I’m completely immersed. I still have so much to learn about the practice, and I have many other interests. And that’s okay! I can be a fantastic yoga instructor and continue growing in my practice without calling myself a yogi.

Yoga is sacred, and I want to honor that as much as possible. Given that yoga in the West has already been stripped of much of its spirituality and is largely whitewashed, it feels wrong to call myself a yogi. Heck, I even called my blog readers yogis! What if they don’t even practice yoga?

That term is not a marketing gimmick. Same with “Namaste,” but that’s a whole other post. Since I fit into the stereotypical mold of Western yoga, I want to be better and empower others to honor yoga’s roots as well.

Now, why did I shift to “healer”? Because I am one! Yoga is a beautiful journey of healing. I am also Reiki Level 1, Sound Bath trained, a lightworker, and constantly educating myself on holistic wellness. I love using my crystals, aromatherapy, and mindfulness tips in all aspects of my life. I enjoy a good conversation about our souls’ vibrations and how to improve manifestations.

I can absolutely be a healer while still healing. We’re all going through this life together, and a large part of the journey is always learning. I’m here to work alongside you on your journey. I want to encourage you to ground yourself in your own unique spiritual practice while I work on mine.

We can heal together, my love. I dearly enjoy sharing my learnings and tips with you. That’s why I’m here typing away with Rose Quartz and Citrine on my wrists. I’m here for me and you.

With lots of love and gratitude,
Camryn
